Enjoying the Holiday’s – Movies

Since I was a young girl, I’ve always had a penchant for anything English.  imagesI love reading about the lives of young women, particularity living in England. Favorite author for that category is Sophie Kinsella.

This tid-bit leads into my obsession with anything English, Hugh Grant, Nick Hornby and “About a Boy”.

I watched “About a Boy” over the weekend and saw my favorite actress, Rachel Weisz and really recommend that you watch it to, it makes a great holiday movie to add into this season’s movie rotations.

Here we see Mrs. Daniel Craig wearing a crimson-like hue and she’s just stunning!

Happy Holidays!

Red for the Holiday’s at Barneys New York

154105048_product_1Besides wearing crimson hues, I like anything in red, from shoes to jewelry and note books for jotting down things I don’t want to forget, okay I actually use my notes section on my phone for that, but I would still love a red address book or notebook.

We scoured the web for some interesting finds this holiday season, that actually can be purchased for ourselves at any time of the year, but of course those of us that love red already know that. So if you’re looking for a red pedicure, crimson pout, statement heals or a house warming gift, Barneys has it all.

502166771_product_1There are other objects de’ art too, not just items in our favorite hue, since we don’t need an excuse to wear it.

Let’s not forget that red comes in a variety of shades, from deep reds to orange reds and pink reds.

Why not give this holiday a  bit of color?

500461925_product_1I love carrying around a note book, especially from Smythson of Bond Street, one year my sister Wendy gave me a pink address book and another year I received a red passport holder, love it!

You can never go wrong with a red candle, especially in blood orange, one of my favorite scents and honestly I love it as a gelato and spritzer.

Not one to shy away from red, Kerri Russell and her makeup artist Tina Turnbow chose a deep crimson pout and doesn’t she look lovely?

The color is Laura Mercier’s Truly RED and it looks amazing with her skin tone, so if you’re more on the fair side, why not try this jewel on your next visit to the cosmetics counter.

Oh, and don’t forget to watch the The Americans.

My First Nude Lip – La Dolce Vita by Nars

nars-velvet-matte-lip-pencil-dolce-vitaStands to say that Nars is a genius when it comes to whipping up the most gorgeous hues.  I’ve become obsessed with visiting my friend Dalia at my neighborhood Nars boutique on Fillmore Street.  I simply cannot walk by without popping in.

This time I doubled up on what I think is my New signature crimson, Dragon Girl and I fell-in-love with La Dolce Vita.

A gorgeous nude hue with a hint of pink undertones, and guess what? I layered my Chanel pink over it for that extra touch.

Remember, every City Girl needs a nude….
