I love Caroline Issa, I just wish I could go without wearing red on a day-to-day basis, but I’m just not that pretty naturally. I need the crimson to perk me up.

I have to say this is a beautiful shade of crimson. I can see it on as a stain once the blotting process is done. Or worn matte, which is how I like it.

Okay, I know this is two posts in one day, but I’m sure you guys surf the net while working too.
I fell in love with this image of Emma Stone at the Sag Awards, doesn’t she look gorgeous? Not only is she pretty(talented) but she knows how to wear crimson.
This is one shade we can all run out and get, it’s affordable and could work on everyone.

I love, love reading articles that help guide women in their pursuit of finding their perfect shade of red. I also love the fact that my rules to wearing red is my most popular blog post and get’s a lot of hits a day.
Anyway, I found another article and thought Legendary by SmashBox was a good contender for our red lipstick rotations, however it does work best with light olive skin.

I recently read an article in Net-A-Porter talking about Mexico and how Mexican women tend to wear red lipstick and black mascara, that they had a cult favorite that is only available in Mexico.
Lucky for me my dear friend Shawn was in Mexico City at the time of the article and I immediatly wrote to him asking him if he would be able to bring some back and he did.
He was so sweet, he picked up one of each, made me very happy.
I tried it today and found it easy to apply and guess what? It made my lashes look pretty, thicker, longer and natural.

Visiting my favorite blogs today I realized that Tatler was available on line, I feel like I’ve been living under a rock. For those of you that haven’t heard of Tatler, it’s only one of the best beauty/fashion magazines available in England. The Brits in my opinion know their stuff and report on the newest cutting edge designers, literature, music, health, beauty and film – but let’s not forget that their articles are worth reading too.
Today I discovered they did a piece on the best red lipsticks and going through them I recognized a few and even found a new one that has me intrigued.
You guys should know by now that I love pencil lipsticks, so before I go out and buy another Dragon Girl by Nars, I’m hitting the Bobbie Brown Counter to test out this little jewel.

I don’t know why I didn’t think of this post before, for months now all I’ve been doing is applying my crimson pout and earrings as my only accessories.
And lately I’ve been wearing my Dragon Girl by Nars, and after lunch I apply a bit of my Red Red by Butter London and I can vouch that the combination is lethal, it stays on even after a romantic interlude.
What’s your favorite combination for long-lasting power?
Not only was Winona Ryder sporting crimson at Sundance for the promotion of her new film, ‘Experimenter’ – but she also kept her tresses hydrated and healthy with Leonor Greyl.
Her skin was glowing, and the red lip gave her just the amount of needed color to keep the dreary winter blues away.
Steps to great hair:
1. Begin by applying Leonor Greyl Mousse au Lotus Volumatrice to damp hair, rough dry hair on high heat, use fingers to create volume and bring out the natural textures.
2. Once hair is completely dry, lightly mist Voluforme for volume and hold onto random sections of the hair and wrap sections of hair alternating between a large and medium curling iron around the head to create different size wave patterns.
3. Then apply a dime sized amount of Serum de Soie Sublimateur into palms, rub them together, and flip head over using fingers to loosen waves.
4. Flip head back to create side part.
To finish the look, lightly mist Laque Souple for hold and longevity.”
Now, she’s a gal after my own heart.
